Winter Wonderland

As winter sets in and the temperatures drop and we lose our sunlight faster than most of us would like to! You need to really grab on to those New Year resolutions and turn them into reality. A good way to keep yourself on track is to develop an overall goal with small goals that you can achieve on a monthly basis. The best thing you can do to stay on track with your new healthy habits is to keep it simple. If you head to the gym with huge, grandiose ideas it is almost a guarantee that you will be too sore to return the next day! Decide how you are going to achieve your cardiovascular goals- group fitness classes, machines etc then pick a body part. If you have a relatively tough day and you really feel out of focus for your workouts –keep it simple plug in to your IPod You will feel better when you finish so –keep it simple! Remember you do not have to spend a lot of time at the gym to get in shape just focus and keep it simple. Wishing you a Happy, Healthy New Year.

Immune Boosting Tips

• Get plenty of rest. So many obligations play havoc with our sleep it really is a challenge to try to sleep soundly for 8 hours.
• Drink your water. Dehydration is one of the most misinterpreted symptoms that can mask itself as hunger, crankiness, irritability, being off-balance.
• The holidays have you not eating as clean as a whistle? Make sure you take your Multi-vitamins, plus increase your tea drinking-all teas have
anti-oxidants. Try to make sure you are balancing your lean proteins and squeezing in as many fruits & veggies as you can between those cookies.
• Let the stress go and enjoy your family & friends. The holidays and the New Year are a time of reflecting and cleaning house inside that busy mind and body of yours. It is a New Year, start fresh and clean and calmer in 2009.
